“I have found myself at the edges of Maine’s waters over the years. Just being present in the presence of Maine’s edges is a gift. The timelessness of where the land and sea meet. The cool, hard lines of granite balance the soft, lapping ripples of water coming into the numerous coves here in Maine, each with their own personality. The Edges of Maine: the balancing and grounding contrast of granite and sea. That line where they meet. How it moves gently. Shifts. The cyclical tides. The timeless peace found here. A gift meant to be noticed. Maine’s coastline offers gentle healing and a sense of peace. It’s my gratitude for this (for the edges, inlets and coves, that Maine generously shares with us, with me) that motivates me to capture it in paint. My gift is to share it with you.
Being a human first, artist second, has taught me to take a little extra time to see the beauty that surrounds me. I am reminded that this natural beauty is here for us to enjoy all year round — we just need to slow down to take it in.”
